January 10, 2005Part of the TeamI think this is worth noting. Yesterday I was asked to be on the phpBB Styles team (phpBB is a popular open source bulletin board system written in PHP). I know it seems odd me joining a syles team by looking at this weblog, but I will make a skin for it soon enough. :) Anyway, I have been using the software for a while and I was grateful they asked me to join the team and allow me to give back to the project. January 06, 2005Disappointed in ABC's LostOne of my favorite shows on TV is Lost on ABC. I have only missed about 20 minuets of one episode due to school and complications with the VCR. As much as I like that show last nights episode really bothered me. If you have not seen last nights episode but are planning to watch it you probably want to stop reading here. What I want to know is, what kind of stupid human being would organize a bank robbery with live ammunition and risk killing yourself or others, wounding yourself or others, or going to jail for the rest of your life over a stupid plastic/medal model airplane about three inches long. ABC’s writers must think their target audience is bunch of idiots. I realize she said it use to belong to someone she loved and killed and I can see where you would really want to keep it, but big freaking deal. You feel bad for killing someone, so what do you do, you risk killing more people to get a worthless toy to remind you of them. No one would rob a bank to get it simply for sentimental reasons. That is just ridicules and that is the sloppiest writing I have seen on he show so far. January 04, 2005Reply to Comment about CloserI had a funny comment to my last post and I wanted it to make sure everyone reads it. First let me add a disclaimer to my site. DISCLAIMER Okay so that was just a joke... Anyway the comment was from Mr. X. I call him Mr. X to protect his identity, although his real name is Josh, and he works with me. :) Mr. X wrote: your proof that movie critics pretend to like certain movies for their own benefit is based on your dislike of the same movie? Wow.My proof was actually recorded on film. See Exhibit A. Mr. X wrote: Tell me Jason, what does a "real movie" encompass?Let me back up. I didn't realize that would be taken at face value. Let me clarify. Just as me setting up a video camera and pointing it at the pavement in front of my house for two hours is by definition a "real movie" so is Closer. However, like my movie about the pavement, Closer has just about the same plot line, progression, drama, action, and character development. If you consider Closer to be a real movie, you must also consider my similar, but much better movie, The Pavement to be a real movie. Although, I am sure it would not get as good reviews because it isn't sleazy enough. |
