September 30, 2004ABC's Lost
I have been watching Lost on ABC (Wed 8/7c). If you have not seen it I suggest watching the two episodes you missed on Saturday. It is turning out to be a pretty good show. The only issue I have with it is the character from Iraq’s Republic Guard who fought against us in the Gulf War that they are making into a hero. I don’t really know if that is appropriate considering all the problems we are having in Iraq right now. It reminds me of the movie American Beauty when they made the drug dealer the hero. That was an absolutely sickening movie. Posted by GraphicMD at September 30, 2004 01:06 PM | TrackBackComments
I liked American Beauty :). Posted by: Chastity at October 4, 2004 10:12 PMI have talked to a few Christians who liked this movie. This goes back to one of my previous comments on my Extreme Makeover: Home Edition entry. This movie only continues to blur the line between what is good and what is bad more than it already is. Our society has gotten to bad that even Christians can not discern what is right and wrong. We can no longer see things right in front of us. i saw some of american beauty and loved it. i need to watch the whole thing. Posted by: metalaaron at October 8, 2004 09:26 AMWe must cleanse the evil from this blog. Anyone know an exorcist? :) Posted by: Jason at October 8, 2004 12:34 PMHey, I liked American Beauty -- when I used the disc for target practice! That and Magnolia... Ugh... Posted by: Hugo at October 8, 2004 11:57 PMMagnolia seemed more disgusting than American Beauty to me. I think I even liked American Beauty to some extent. Posted by: Jano at October 10, 2004 01:23 PMBoth films seemed like a masterbatory (pardon the word) excercise in ars gratia artis and were completely without merit, I thought. They were movies for the sake of movies. What's the point? I want something with substance. Not just some ephemeral gratification. Like maybe Pee Wee's Big Top Adventure or something. OK, so the Pee Wee Herman reference was a joke, but I used the word mast... Ah, just forget it. Posted by: Hugo at October 11, 2004 12:51 PMI love the show. I've been watching Lost and Desperate Housewives enough that I had to great forums for the shows on my site. http://www.whatsonext.com/ i've given the show on the benefit of the doubt on the Republican Guard thing. They really haven't played it up too much. It does give for some character building. We'll see what they do with his character. They tend to focus on characters in each episode, so i'm sure there's one coming up about him. Post a comment
